Developing a child’s character will make you (and your child) so happy and proud when the results are seen. Doing the right thing no matter the situation, helping others including his teacher, thoughtfulness of others, telling the truth to themselves and others, love, do unto others as you would do unto yourself, integrity, praying, nice manners which are just making others feel comfortable, self control, respecting other people, self discipline, being on time, morals, doing what you say you will do, being upbeat and positive, good work habits, contribute to life, love animals, respecting elders, minding parents, taking some responsibility in all situations, opening doors and giving up seats for older people (and more) are foundational for a child’s self esteem, and admiration and respect from others.
I used to keep a notebook on what I wanted to teach my children to make sure I covered them all. Give them lots of praise, love and rewards as they learn.
Early reading brings them self esteem and self respect.
